"My Opinion  About “Why the Story is written?"

I think the Stephen Manes, the author of “The Boy Who Turned into a TV”, wanted to share about the television effect of children. Since many of interest programs existed on television, many of children also addicted by television. There is no doubt that society at large influences children, but without any hesitation I can say that the effects the television has are far greater. It is the television that takes our children on the path of drugs, alcohol, fornication, disrespect, confrontation, modernism and many other evils that are apparent in our society today. Know that these evils are a direct result of watching and learning from the television.

They spent almost all of their time to watched television. This is a big problem, especially for parents. Stephen Manes was aware about this problem, so he tried to share this problem with audience. As a good writer, he made a story about a boy who turned into a television, because that boy always watching television all day. The content of the story more investigated about children’s habit (watching television) and its result. The result is not good, because it is storied that the boy had a strange day, he turned into a television. He felt so confused and regretted. His stomach turned into the screen.

This story is for all readers, so I think the author wanted to say to child readers that watching television all day is not good because it can make something bad for them. After read this story, maybe many of children will think that spent their time just for watching television is not good. This story uses an education book for child. And the author wanted to tell parents so that they must arrange watching schedule for their children.

In my opinion, this story has much of positive side, especially it can be a narrative story with education morality. Also, the story has good influence for readers. The author wrote what he thought about the step “how make children become not often watching television?”. I’d like this story, it is so funny although unreal. In personal argument, I felt so scare with the violence on television. Television should not be violent because it acts as an educator and has a responsibility to the children it educates. We should think about what we watch. I can’t change television programming myself but together we can be a voice.

So, Stephen Manes had creative step for reached his voice, by made a creative story and people can understand the meaning of what he wanted to share.
